Tests for Adult Basic Education (TABE)

Delgado Community College’s Office of Advising and Testing offers the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) on a limited basis for specific programs at Delgado.  The test is designed to measure achievement of basic skills commonly found in adult basic education curricula and taught in instructional programs.

Who needs this test?

The TABE is only required for students interested in the Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) program and the Accelerated Career Education (ACE) program.

Which Delgado locations offer these exams?

The TABE is only offered on the City Park Campus.

What subjects are covered on the test?

Reading, Language, Mathematics, and Spelling are all covered on the test

No personal items, including but not limited to, mobile phones, hand-held computers/personal digital assistants (PDAs) or other electronic devices, pagers, smart watches, purses, firearms or other weapons, hats (and other non-religious head coverings), bags, books, and/or notes are allowed in the testing rooms. You must store all personal items in a secure area as indicated by the Testing Center staff or return them to your vehicle. If you refuse to store your personal items, you will be unable to test. Please bring appropriate forms of identification for the test you are taking.
