Our rich, diverse heritage
Founded in 1921, Delgado is renowned as Louisiana’s oldest and largest community college, serving men and women of all ages who reflect the diversity of the New Orleans metropolitan area. Delgado is a comprehensive, multi-campus community college and a major institution of higher education in the State of Louisiana. In fact, today Delgado has become Louisiana’s second-largest higher education institution.

With seven locations, and more on the way, Delgado has been serving the New Orleans community for nearly 100 years. Delgado’s 35 associate degree programs, 73 certificate, technical competency area and technical diploma programs, and more than 100 non-credit courses meet the needs of every type of student, regardless of entry point or individual goal.
