2025 LaGEMSS Conference Call for Proposals

November 18, 2024

Registration and the call for proposals for the LaGEMSS Conference on April 11, 2025, are now open. We anticipate that year two will be even better than last year. This conference promises to be a fantastic opportunity for us to reconnect and share best practices in service to student success in our co-requisite mathematics and English gateway courses across the state.

Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Sonya L. Armstrong, a Professor in the Graduate Program in Postsecondary Student Success at Texas State University. Dr. Armstrong is a practitioner-researcher, with foci situated at the intersections of literacy and postsecondary teaching and learning. She has some great insight and experience to share with us.

General information about the conference can be found here.

The call for proposals can be found here. The proposal deadline is January 10, 2025.

We encourage faculty to submit proposals to share your insight, expertise, and observations from the field, particularly if you teach math. We would love to schedule more sessions for our math attendees and more sessions on academic support outside of the classroom.

Information about registration can be found here. Registration closes on March 14, 2025. Please note, registration is a two-part process:
  1. To register, click here and select "Conferences and Events.” You can pay for multiple attendees.
  2. Upon payment, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to complete your registration. Click on this link which will open a form for you to list the names of all attendees. Please do not skip this step.
We look forward to seeing you at the conference in the spring!
