Board of Regents Higher Education Tour Stops at Delgado
March 27, 2025
The Louisiana Board of Regents toured various state higher education institutions, and Dr. Larissa Littleton-Steib was proud to host the group at Delgado Community College.
Board of Regents Chair Misti Cordell led a student panel to hear more about students’ challenges and successes directly from them. Then Dr. Kim Hunter Reed and the Board of Regents members toured the simulated hospital in the Ochsner Center for Nursing and Allied Health.
The virtual hospital features the largest array of state-of-the-art patient simulators in Louisiana. The simulators are designed to replicate human anatomy and simulate vital signs and a variety of medical conditions and scenarios, enabling students to build skills and confidence in patient care. This facility helps Delgado produce healthcare professionals who are ready to hit the ground running after graduation. Delgado has produced 48% of graduating nurses in the New Orleans area over the past five years. And in allied health, we are the largest provider of healthcare workers in the U.S.
