April 26, 2021

New Orleans CityBusiness, a weekly business news publication, has named Professor Barry Brantley of Delgado Community College to its “Power 25” rankings of the most dynamic and influential individuals working in the city’s tourism and hospitality industry.

Brantley was chosen for the honor through an anonymous nomination process and was selected because of his many contributions to the New Orleans hotel and tourism industry as well as his contributions to the community.

The 25 individuals “represent a wide variety of companies, organizations and institutions and are united by a commitment to excellence,” said Natalie Chandler, editor of New Orleans CityBusiness.

Brantley has worked in hospitality for 40 years and spent nearly half of his career as sales director for hotel companies including The Ritz-Carlton, Wyndham International and Starwood Hotels and Resorts.

He is professor and chair of the Hospitality Management program at Delgado, where he works to educate the next generation of hospitality professionals.

Brantley also serves as senior director of global accounts for HelmsBriscoe, and as a consultant for the International Facility Management Agency.
