PepsiCo Foundation Renews Funding for Uplift Scholarship Program at Delgado

Delgado Community College has received $240,250 in renewed funding from the PepsiCo Foundation for the Uplift Scholarship Program, which provides financial and mentoring support for underserved students to secure the necessary resources and academic support to put them on the pathway to promising careers. Students enrolled in associate degree programs may receive an annual scholarship of up to $2,100 and students enrolled in certificate programs may receive an annual scholarship of up to $2,400. 
   
The PepsiCo Foundation launched the Uplift Scholarship Program in 2021 at 20 community colleges across the U.S. and has served about 2,800 students since its inception. Delgado first received PepsiCo Foundation Uplift Scholarship funds in 2022 and since then, 205 scholarships have been awarded, 101 students have received a degree or certificate and 88 scholars are currently enrolled.
 
Qualifying students for the PepsiCo Uplift Scholarship must fall into at least one of these categories: classified by the college as an underrepresented or underserved student, Pell-eligible / low-income or first generation to attend college. Students must also be enrolled in select academic programs or workforce training, including computer information technology, business and logistics.
