Delgado Theatre Production ‘Our Lady of 121st Street’ Scheduled Nov. 15 - 19

The Delgado Community College Theatre Program announces their latest production, “Our Lady of 121st Street”by Stephen Adly Guirgis, winner of the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
In the play, the Ortiz Funeral Room is in big trouble. The body of beloved community activist and nun Sister Rose has been stolen from the viewing room, and waiting for her proper return are some of New York City’s most emotionally charged, life-challenged inhabitants. Due to these extraordinary circumstances, the characters confront each other about their shared pasts and uncertain futures, resulting in a dark, insightful and funny comedy.

“Our Lady of 121st Street”is directed by Kris LaMorte. The play will be performed by students from the Delgado Theatre Program.
The production staff includes scene design by James Means, lighting and sound design by Tom Dawson and costume design by Lindy Bruns.
The play opens Wednesday, Nov. 15, at the Timothy K. Baker Theatre, 615 City Park Ave., Building 1, 1st floor. The production will run through Sunday, Nov. 19. The curtain time for the Wednesday-Saturday performances is 8 p.m. The Sunday performance is a matinee beginning at 3 p.m.
Tickets are $12 general admission; $10 senior citizens, Delgado students, faculty and staff; $8 local high school students. Student group rates are available.
Thursday, Nov. 16 is Delgado Appreciation Night, when all tickets for Delgado students, faculty and staff are $8.
