Delgado Theatre Production ‘Detroit ‘67’ Scheduled February 20-24

The Delgado Community College Theatre Program announces their latest production, “Detroit ‘67” by recent MacArthur Foundation grant recipient Dominique Morisseau.

Set during the riots of the summer of 1967, “Detroit ‘67” delves into the bond between a brother and sister and the difficult, life-altering decisions they must make against a backdrop of chaos and economic instability.

“Detroit ‘67” is directed by Michael Aaron Santos. The play will be performed by students from the Delgado Theatre Program.

The production staff includes scene design by James Means, lighting and sound design by Tom Dawson and costume design by Shelby Butera.

The play opens Wednesday, February 20, at the Delgado Drama Hall, 615 City Park Ave., Building 1, 3rd floor. The production will run through Sunday, February 24. Curtain times for Wednesday-Saturday performances are at 8 p.m. and the closing matinee performance on Sunday is at 3 p.m.

Tickets are $12 general admission; $10 senior citizens and Delgado students, faculty and staff; $8 for all area high school students with student group rates available. Thursday, February 21, is Delgado Appreciation Night when all tickets for Delgado students, faculty and staff are $8.
