Edwards Selected for Global Leaders Program

Out of hundreds of applications by rising change-makers in music from around the world, Steven Edwards of Delgado Community College was selected as one of the 60 members of the Global Leaders Program’s 2022 Cohort. Edwards is Director of the Honors Program and Professor of Music at Delgado. He has been the Music Director of the Symphony Chorus of New Orleans since 1990.
The Global Leaders Program empowers cultural changemakers to grow organizations that impact communities through an innovative 12-month Executive Graduate Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship and other related subject areas. Led in partnership with nine top universities and think tanks; a world-class faculty that includes Nobel laureates, Grammy winners, Polar Prize awardees and TED presenters; and a network of diverse fieldwork hosts—the program is offered annually to an executive cohort of dynamic arts professionals from around the globe.
The 2022 Cohort comprises 29 nations spanning six continents, and includes project founders, social entrepreneurs, teaching artists, concert presenters, professional orchestra musicians, university and conservatory professors, and doctoral researchers. Members of the 2022 Cohort represent Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Eswatini, the European Union, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Historic Palestine and The Levant, Honduras, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Nigeria, Portugal, Romania, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Venezuela.
