2024 Excellence in Teaching Nominees Recognized, Winner Selected

Each year, Delgado Community College is proud to honor faculty members nominated for the Seymour Weiss Excellence in Teaching Award, the College’s highest honor recognizing teaching excellence. 

The 2024 nominees are Jordan Adams, assistant professor of geology; Wendy Garretson, professor of nursing; Gina Herrera, professor of nursing; Tara LaFrance, associate professor of mathematics; Mavis Larrimer, assistant professor of respiratory care technology; Mike Majors, professor of psychology; 

Arthine Powers, instructor in American Sign Language; Rene Randall, professor of respiratory care technology; Anne Riley, assistant professor of business; Erin Schrepfer, assistant professor of hospitality management; Richard Vargas, professor of motor vehicle technology; and Kenneth Williams, associate professor of carpentry.

This year's winner is Mike Majors, who was presented with the award at Delgado's Spring 2024 Commencement. All nominees and winner Mike Majors received medals at the Fall 2024 Convocation.
