Delgado Community College Students Get Hands on Experience with Music Production on the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus

On October 21 the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus arrived at Delgado Community College with artist in residence Khemist Mayfield. He joined one of the Wellness Week events in the Student Life Center and performed his spoken word poetry and original music.
On October 22, seven students were selected to spend the day on the bus with Khemist and the rest of the John Lennon crew of producers and engineers. Using Apple technology — including Mac, iPad, Garage Band, Logic Pro, and more — in a single day the students created an original song and music video based on their own ideas.
The John Lennon Bus is equipped with enhanced audio and video equipment technology. This experience gave the students a view of career paths in audio and video on a professional level. And the opportunity to use this technology under the mentorship of a national recording office gave voice to stories that might otherwise have gone unheard.
