Six from Delgado Win LCTCS Faculty and Staff Awards

During the 2021 LCTCS Annual Conference in November, six members of the Delgado Community College faculty and staff were recognized for professional excellence and exceptional service: Joel George, winner, LCTCS President’s Faculty Fellowship; Beatrice Eweni, nominee, LCTCS President's Award for Teaching Excellence; Angela Shoemake, Outstanding Faculty Member; Sandra Joseph, Outstanding Professional Staff Member; Cassandra DeCoux, Outstanding Professional Support Staff Member; and Cynthia B. Winner, LCTCS President’s Faculty Fellowship

The President’s Faculty Fellowship is awarded annually to an outstanding professional educator in the LCTCS. The purpose of the fellowship is to ensure that capable people within the System have opportunities to prepare themselves for top-level management and instructional positions within the LCTCS. This can be accomplished by earning two types of doctoral degrees: community college leadership/higher education degrees or discipline-based degrees.

Nominee (one of seven), LCTCS President’s Award for Teaching Excellence

The purpose of the President’s Award for Teaching Excellence is to recognize excellence in teaching in Louisiana’s community and technical colleges. Awarded annually to one teaching faculty member within the LCTCS who distinctly represents the teaching excellence found at the LCTCS colleges.
