Lumina Foundation Grant Funds Branding and Wayfinding Signage at Delgado
March 20, 2025
Delgado Community College received $101,250 from the Lumina Foundation via the Louisiana Community and Technical College System. The funds are designated for campus branding and wayfinding.
The College investigated a number of options to use the grant – a virtual tour, kiosks, and improved signage. Ultimately signage was determined to be the priority.
Funds from the Lumina grant were used for a sign for the Advanced Technology Center on the West Bank Campus. Featuring the Delgado Community College logo, the sign is visible from major access points to the campus and is illuminated at night.
Much of the wayfinding signage on the City Park Campus at Delgado is faded, inaccurate, or is missing information, so that was designated as a grant priority. New signage is now being installed, starting with a set of four buildings, including the two that are most heavily trafficked by students and visitors.
Eventually all outdated and faded directional signs will be replaced. The new signs have removable panels so they can be replaced easily and inexpensively if campus offices are renamed or relocated.
