Delgado's Respiratory Care Technology students visited Ochsner's Flight Care base to learn more about the role of the Respiratory Therapist in pediatric patient transport. These future therapists were able to learn from members of the flight team about the differences in caring for a patient in a helicopter or ambulance versus a hospital.

Respiratory therapists have always played a vital role in healthcare, but the COVID-19 pandemic clearly demonstrated how vital this skillset is. We continually face major illnesses like influenza, RSV, and COVID-19, and respiratory care technologists are at the forefront of providing critical patient care.
