Welding Student Places 1st in Annual Welding Competition

Delgado's School of Construction Arts and Technical Studies is proud to announce seven welding students competed in the American Welding Society's (AWS) 17th Annual AWS New Orleans Section Student Welder Competition held Saturday, November 11, 2023.  

 This year, the competition featured a high attendance rate by student participants in the competition: roughly 20 in the advanced category, 15 in the beginner category, and 15 in the high school category. Delgado's Welding Program entered one beginner student (less than one year in the program) and six advanced students (greater than one year in the program). Jeremiah Mahler won first place in the Advanced Welding Competition this year; he placed first in the beginners category last year. We would like to thank our faculty and students for elevating Delgado's name at this event and congratulate Jeremiah for his win.
