Culinary Arts General Education Requirements
Below are the courses you will choose from for the General Education Requirements for the Culinary Arts, A.A.S. degree. If you are pursuing a CTS instead, you do not need any of the below to complete those programs.
The following are approvated Fine Arts, Humanities, Social and Behavioral Science, and Natural Science courses that meet program requirements for a degree. Courses used to fulfill General Education requirements do not narrowly focus on those skills, techniques, and procedures specific to a particular occupation or profession; rather these courses provide a broad-based foundation in the subject area. Students may not use a course in their major to fulfill their General Education Requirements
- ENGL 101 - English Composition I OR
- ENGL 110 - Intensive English Composition I
Please note: Entering Culinary Arts, A.A.S students must be taking, have already taken or eligible to take ENGL 101 or ENGL 110 to be admitted to the program.
- MATH 120 - Contemporary Math OR
- MATH 128 - Applied Algebra OR
- MATH 130 - College Algebra
Please note: MATH 120 - Contemporary Math will satisfy Delgado's Math graduation requirement but will not transfer towards a four-year degree. MATH 130 - College Algebra will satisfy Delgado's graduation requirements and may transfer to a four-year degree.

- PHIL 101 - Introduction to Philosophy

- SPAN - Any Spanish course with SPAN prefix

Courses to fulfill the general education requirements in natural science must be selected from the following:
- BIOL - Any biology course with BIOL prefix except BIOL 072, 095, 114, 161, and 163
- CHEM - Any chemistry course with CHEM prefix
- GEOL - Any geology course with GEOL prefix
- PHYS - Any physics course with PHYS prefix except PHYS 105
- SCIE - Any physical science course except SCIE 202
