Administrative Office Technology

Administrative Office Technology (ADOT) courses focus on technologies, softwares, and procedures found in the modern office setting and related technological fields. While Administrative Office Technology is currently not an associate degree program offered by Delgado, Office Administration is offered as a concentration in the General Studies degree. In addition, many of these ADOT courses are part of various program requirements here at Delgado.

ADOT courses are currently overseen by the Computer Information Technology dept.

Office Administration Concentration

Associate of General Studies (A.G.S.)

The General Studies Program is a flexible and academically structured program. With an advisor, an educational plan is developed for the selected course of study.

Students interested in an in-depth study of Office Administration will take 18 credit hours of ADOT courses on topics such as

  • General Office Procedures
  • Machine  Transcription
  • Word Processing and Advanced Word Processing
  • Document Production
  • Spreadsheet Applications
  • Database Applications

Information Technology Support
Career & Technical Certificate (C.T.C.)

The certificate program in Information Technology Support prepares students for entry-level employment to provide technical assistance, support, and advice to computer users to help troubleshoot software and hardware problems.

Students must take the following 12 hours to be awarded the C.T.C.:

Web Site Design
Certificate of Technical Studies (C.T.S.)

The 24-credit hour Web Design C.T.S. provides students with the core skills and knowledge necessary for a career in web design including training in the technology and business aspects of web design. Students learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other programming languages to design and develop websites. Students also learn how to use Adobe Creative Cloud programs to create graphics, vector assets, prototypes, and more!
