Ronald Russo has served as the Vice Chancellor for Business and Administrative Affairs at Delgado Community College for the last 7 years. He is a native of New Orleans and has over 31 years of progressive experience in higher education. During his career at Delgado, he has held prior positions starting first as a classified manager, then promoted to Director of Restricted Funds, and subsequently Assistant Vice Chancellor/Financial Services. Additionally, he has served as the Delgado Community College Foundation Accountant for the past 11 years. Mr. Russo has an extensive background in financial leadership, strategic budgeting and planning, and higher education management experience serving Delgado’s multi-campus institution. His experience includes managing and successfully balancing a $77 million budget, including $33 million in state funds and $44 million in self-generated funds. Additionally, he has overseen $20 million in federal grants and has increased administrative cost revenues through improved efficiencies. Throughout his career, Ronald Russo has made major contributions to the College, which include: increased scholarship spending and streamlined scholarship opportunities by aligning with educational programs; assumed FEMA project management/invoicing resulting in significant additional revenue and closeout of outstanding facilities projects; reduced general fund expenditures and improved restricted funds use; streamlined the budget preparation process; increased facility enhancement initiatives and annual allocation to expand and improve the College’s facilities across 7 locations; increased foundation scholarship spending and streamlined opportunities by aligning with educational programs; and led major System and College initiatives leading to reduced duplication of efforts and greater efficiency. Ronald Russo retired from the military after serving in the United States Army National Guard for 21 years. Mr. Russo is a Delgado graduate having earned an Associate of Science in Business Administration. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of the State of New York, Regents College, and a Master’s of Business Administration in Finance from the University of New Orleans. |
