Student Academic Success Center

Academic advising is an integral part of the educational process, and Delgado Community College strives to provide a quality advising program that helps students make a successful transition to college life, learn to set academic, career, and life goals, and develop strategies for achieving these goals.  Our purpose is to guide students to become self-directed learners and decision makers.

First Year Academic Advising:  0-29 Credit Hours Earned

All incoming students, including transfer and returning students who enter Delgado Community College City Park Campus with 0-29 credit hours will be assigned an academic advisor in the Student Academic Success Center located in Building 2, Room 105, except for students interested in Nursing and Allied Health programs.

All students interested in nursing and Allied Health programs will be advised in Building 4, City Park Campus.  Students already accepted into the nursing program will be advised by a coordinator/faculty member.

Continuing, Returning, and Transfer Students: 30+ Hours Earned

All continuing, returning, and transfer students who have earned 30 or more credit hours will be advised in the academic schools by a departmental advisor and/or faculty member.
