Small Industrial Electrician
The Industrial Electrician C.T.S. Program is designed to prepare students for small industrial entry-level electrician positions. Building and equipping electrical power generating plants, installation and servicing of electrical systems for factories, workshops, or any other industrial setting that use electrical energy for heating, lighting, cooling are other operations among the career opportunities for which students will prepare.
Our small industrial program focuses on National Electric Code (NEC) standards, industrial wiring, solid state theory, digital logic functions, and motor controls. Students will apply knowledge gained in theory/lecture classes to hands-on projects in the lab.
Campus
Small Industrial Electrician courses are offered at the River City Site.
Careers
You can seek employment with electrical contractors, private companies, plants, or factories. Employment of electricians in Louisiana is expected to grow 19% from 2016 to 2024. The average salary for an electrician in Louisiana is $24.43 per hour/ $50,810 per year (LA Workforce Commission, Occupational Wage Data, 2016).
