Financial Aid Questions

I received a bill for tuition, but I'm using Financial Aid to secure my classes. What should I do?

STEP 1: Today you should log into LoLA (Delgado’s online student portal) and review your Financial Aid Status.

  • If you have submitted all requested documents and your Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status is Good, Probation, or Warning, go to STEP 2.

  • If you need to submit documents or your Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status is not Good, Probation or Warning, please visit the Financial Aid Office.

  • If you have already submitted an appeal and it was denied, you must secure classes with payment in full or by enrolling in the payment plan. All past due balances are due in full and cannot be paid through the payment plan.

STEP 2: Log into LoLA and ensure that you have Authorized Aid on your account.

  • If you don't have Authorized Aid, please visit your campus financial aid office.

  • If you do have a Authorized Aid, you may be eligible for bookstore credit.

How do I enroll in the payment plan?

Log into LoLA (Delgado’s online student portal) to enroll in the Payment Plan.

How do I know if I am enrolled in the payment plan?

Log into LoLA (Delgado’s online student portal) to check if you are enrolled in the Payment Plan.

If you seen "enroll", you are not in the payment plan. If you see, "view", you are successfully enrolled in the payment plan.

If I enroll in the payment plan, how much will my payments be, and when are they due?

The number and amount of each payment will depend on when you enroll in the payment plan.  If you enroll early, you will be able to make six equal payments with your first payment and $30 enrollment fee due upon enrollment. The number of payments allowed will be reduced to five, four, then three the closer to the start of the term you enroll.  Payments are auto-drafted from your bank account or credit card supplied at the time of enrollment on the 15th of each month. You may review your account/payment details by logging in to LoLA and checking the Payment Plan and View My Semester YYYY Payment Plan.

Once I enroll in the payment plan, how do I stop payments from being auto-drafted from my bank account or credit card if my financial aid posts or other payments are made on my account?

If your account is paid in full, the payment plan status is automatically changed to “completed” and no additional payments will be drafted. As long as a balance remains on your account, payments will be drafted up to the remaining balance due. You may verify the status of  your payment plan by logging in to LoLA and checking the Payment Plan and View My Semester YYYY Payment Plan.

Does the payment plan allow me to pay in cash?

You must enroll online for the Payment Plan and have a valid credit card or bank account to complete enrollment by enrolling in the auto-draft feature. However, after you are enrolled, you may make payments in cash for your subsequent payments by visiting the Bursar’s office at the campus nearest you prior to the payment due date. Please be sure to tell the cashier processing your payment that you are making a payment against your payment plan so it can be applied properly, and your account will not be drafted.

I owe a balance for a prior term. How do I make a payment?

Payments can be made in person (cash, check or money order) at the Bursar/Cashier office on the campus nearest to you or you may mail a check to:

Delgado Community College
Attention: Bursar’s Office
615 City Park Avenue
New Orleans, LA 70119

Please be sure to write your L#/Student ID # on the check.

In order to pay with a credit card or online with a check, you must have access to LoLA (Delgado’s online student portal). If you do have access, you may pay online. Credit cards are not accepted in person or over the phone. All past due balances are due in full! The payment plan is not available. Log into LoLA to Pay in Full.

I have holds on my student account due to a past due balance. When will the hold be removed?

Once your account is paid in full, the past due balance hold will clear within 24 hours.
