Why Study English at Delgado?
New Orleans is a community woven from a diverse collection of people, cultures and languages; originally named for the place that became New Orleans meant "land of many tongues." In a place formed by so many languages, a General Studies degree with an English concentration provides a broad curriculum that develops essential critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills applicable to numerous careers beyond traditional language arts fields such as law, business, and journalism, equipping students with adaptable skills for diverse careers in a digitally evolving world.

Career Opportunities
Although a degree in General Studies with a concentration in English is primarily intended to prepare students for academic transfer, this degree provides students practice in writing mechanics and text analysis in order to pursue the many professions that demand strong reading and writing skills.
